Ensuring all children develop into confident readers with a love of literature is a key priority for the school to ensure they have full access to the learning within their classrooms and develop a true love of learning to help them in all areas of their lives.
Bug Club works in conjunction with our existed guided reading strategies of classes having a Guided Reading session every day, reading texts with of an appropriate reading level for the young reader and home reading books. The intention is to provide all children with a greater opportunity to read a variety of different texts to support their development in reading and enhance their love of reading. To ensure that the use of Bug Club is embedded across the school, teachers have agreed to: •Check the completed activities from your pupils and mark any questions requiring teacher feedback. •Ensure each child has 4 texts allocated to them. •Remind children of their Bug Club login details. •Set reading from Bug Club as an additional homework activity. •Set Bug Club as an activity in Guided Reading. •Check you pupils’ reading within Bug Club on a weekly basis. |
